# Platform Setup

> Configure iOS and Android platforms for push notifications with PNTA Expo client

## Config Plugin

Add the `expo-notifications` config plugin to `app.json`. It adds the iOS push capability and the Android notification setup at build time:

```json app.json theme={null}
{
  "expo": {
    "plugins": ["expo-notifications"]
  }
}
```

## iOS Setup

Set your bundle identifier in `app.json`:

```json app.json theme={null}
{
  "expo": {
    "ios": {
      "bundleIdentifier": "com.example.yourapp"
    }
  }
}
```

Upload your APNs key in the PNTA dashboard. See [Platform Keys](/resources/platform-keys).

## Android Setup

### 1. Firebase Configuration

1. Go to the [Firebase Console](https://console.firebase.google.com/)
2. Create a new project or select an existing one
3. Register your Android app using your package name (e.g., `com.example.yourapp`)
4. Download `google-services.json` and place it in your project root

### 2. App Configuration

```json app.json theme={null}
{
  "expo": {
    "android": {
      "package": "com.example.yourapp",
      "googleServicesFile": "./google-services.json"
    }
  }
}
```

Upload your Firebase service account in the PNTA dashboard. See [Platform Keys](/resources/platform-keys).

## Build

Push notifications need a development build. Expo Go doesn't support them:

```bash theme={null}
npx expo run:ios
npx expo run:android
```

Or build with EAS:

```bash theme={null}
eas build --profile development
```
